Warlord G-1: Prologue

Prologue

Earth: 2035 A.D.
It was the day that many said would never come. World War III. North Korea, after numerous claims of possessing weapons of mass destruction, launched an attack against the United States following intervention by the United Nations. With no warning to the oncoming attack, the nuclear warheads hit New York City, New York, and left half of the city in ruins. Feeling obligated to retaliate, the United States of America, with the backing of the United Nations, invaded South Korea, whom took aid from central nations in Northern Africa. The destruction that resulted left the world in ruin, and as the call of war demanded further technological advancement, scientific feats were accomplished that were never thought capable of mankind. Humans were infused with animal DNA, and as the years passed, these subjects passed the genetic material on to their offspring, creating variant hybrids of human and animal. Tanks had become obsolete, and the first mechanized suit; the Warlord G-1, was brought into being. With this new weapon, the Allied Forces quickly wiped out the aggressive nations that opposed them, and peace seemed to return to the planet.

One year later, seeking mutual benefit, Japan and the United States reached a diplomatic agreement,  forming the Japanese-American Republic. This new nation adopted a parliamentary-democracy, and in a matter of months, they had taken control of Eastern Asia. Mongolia resisted and managed to retain independence, while China amassed marginal territory and remained an independent power.

It wasn't long before The European nations felt threatened. With the exception of Britain and the smaller countries, Europe allied itself with the North African coast forming the European Alliance. Boasting mobilized suits to match against those of the Republic, Also know as the J.A.R, war seemed imminent.

In an effort to reduce overpopulation of penitentiaries, and to reduce the amount of debt among its people, the Republic passed a bold new law. The Debtor and Misdemeanor Civil Service Act allowed licensed officials to force smaller criminals and those with massive debt to act as unpaid labor, subject to the whims of the families they were assigned to. This new law was met with much opposition, however, it was not repealed, and quickly gained support once it yielded results.

In a small town in what was once the state of Connecticut, a young boy named Haydin rebels against the act. He refuses to accept what he has come to see as slavery, and hopes to change society's opinion on the matter. In an effort to quell this rebellious streak, his mother, Tyresa, has taken on a young girl assigned to the Civil Service Program, declaring that she act as a personal assistant to Haydin. One can only guess how the young rebel will react to the news...
